It has not been a particularly stellar week for Mickey's head. :( I took this picture yesterday noontime.
The ugly red scrape on the top of his head resulted from following our brown ewe through her shortcut beneath the horizontal 2x in the bottom left corner of the cabin picture below.
His puffy eye is courtesy of a hornet's nest that he discovered yesterday while we were clearing brush. He got stung on his arm and on his face. Benadryl for poor Mick, and Raid for the hornets. (You can still see some of the pupa in the nest, yuck!)
While Mick was applying the second dose of Raid to the hornet's nest this morning, our rooster hopped atop a log to practice his crow. He crowed 3 or 4 times from this log, then hopped off and onto the next log where he finished up with a couple more.
Fortunately, this story does have a happy ending for Mick. The picture below is from today. Petroleum gel for the scrape, Benadryl for his eye, with double cheeseburgers and curly fries for good measure, and he is already on the mend!
