Sheep's New Digs

Now that the fence is completed, the sheep are in their new pasture and loving it!

We are thrilled that they have free-choice food all day! I definitely prefer watching them munch to cutting hay for them a couple times a day.

The ram eats constantly.

The way they chew makes us laugh. :)

They make a pretty good dent in the vegetation. They cleared this area out in a day. When they started, the central area had the same sort of vegetation that you see in the front left and the rear of the picture.

They strip the leaves right off the stalks.

They're very thorough.

Mick and the ram have really bonded. The ram loves having his chin scratched! He even wags his tail. :)

The girls aren't quite as comfortable with us yet, particularly the brown one, but they are definitely making progress as they get to know us and trust us. I was so happy to finally get a good picture of them!

When we were visiting with them two nights ago, there were birds everywhere!

I don't know whether or not the sheep appreciate it, but their pasture also gives them great views of the sunset.

Hooray for happy sheep!!
