Once the birds found our bird feeders, we have had rather constant activity.
A downy woodpecker enjoys suet from our newest feeder.
(The hens plot their escape from the newly fenced-in yard.)
The woodpeckers also love the bell feeder that John and Judy gave us for Christmas.
Including the red-bellied woodpeckers! We actually had a pair of red-bellied and a downy woodpecker all on the tree at the same time yesterday, though I didn't get a picture of it.
(I'm calling them red-capped woodpeckers in protest -- I think red-bellied is a dumb name for them!)
Visitors not pictured include black-capped chickadees, junkoes, nuthatches, finches, wrens, sparrows, and redpolls. Huzzah!
I'm glad they finally found the feeder :)
ReplyDeleteYes, we are too! It's hard to keep up with how many of them there are sometimes.
